Adult Pre-professional Training Program

FlyCo is A-WOL’s adult pre-professional training company which started in 2012. FlyCo students train, dance and perform together. It is a unique program that offers training with a host of performance opportunities throughout the year. Many of our FlyCo members feed directly into our Circus Rose and Company members.

If you have any questions about the audition please email Steph, the FlyCo Program Director, at FlyCo@awoldance.org

Each week FlyCo comes together for full group rehearsals which will include aerial technique classes, conditioning, flexibility training, dance, physical theater, ground acrobatics, and show creation. The schedule* is as follows:

Mondays 6:30-8:30pm

Wednesdays 6-9pm

Thursdays 6-8:30pm

Saturdays 10am-1pm

*schedule is subject to change slightly from year to year to better fit the training times available in the cohort.

FlyCo has performance opportunities each year, they typically perform next to the Aeros, A-WOL’s youth performance training company, Circus Rose & Company members.

Winter Gala (December)

Open Air Show (June)

Solo Soiree (June)

To supplement our usual training routine, we will also offer special workshops like injury prevention, building your choreography toolbox, stage make-up application, audition prep, self-promotion and marketing and many more.

In addition to our FlyCo group rehearsals, each member will have access to our virtual offerings of flexibility, dance, conditioning, and special guest classes. The students also attend open gym times to hone the skills they are learning in class. There are several tuition options, as well as add-ons for even more independent training times so that you can up your intensity if you're ready for more.

FlyCo. is an audition-based program that runs 2 terms each year:

  • FlyCo Foundations is a 14-week session in the late fall/winter that focuses on building strength, flexibility and skills across various apparatuses while gaining a deeper understanding of putting together a group act. This program term culminates in the creation of one group act that will be performed in A-WOL’s Winter Gala (December). This is a program designed to boost your training habits and get you connected with a group in creative ways.

  • FlyCo Continuum picks back up in spring/summer for a 20-week session that focuses on progressed foundations that lean into smaller group acts and eventual solo creation. In order to make the most out of the Continuum program, members must participate in the Foundations session and the interim, or they must audition to demonstrate readiness to work at a higher level of training and performance. With more opportunities to perform, the Continuum focuses on strong technique, stage presence, and act creation. The program culminates in AWOL’s Open Air Show (June) and the Capstone Solo Soiree (July).

  • FlyCo Foundations + Interim + Continuum Between FlyCo Foundations and FlyCo Continuum, there is an Independent FlyCo Studies session for folks that want to participate in a longer program and have the opportunity to maintain their training habits through a 6-week interim session. Students can have access to open gym training, discounted private lesson bundles, and discounted AWOL class series enrollment of their choosing. Experienced members may also have Pro-Train Membership access, with approval required. This is an opportunity for students to start digging into their solo act idea for the summer.

Beautiful and unexpected performance at the park tonight. Thank you so much for brightening my evening.
