Policies & Procedures

Class Registration

All class registration should be completed online (unless specifically noted otherwise).


Please follow instructions carefully, pay attention to the instructor at all times, practice only the skills being taught and plan to stay the duration of the class. Parents: please instruct your children to listen, follow instructions and stay seated when waiting for a turn. Any student who does not follow directions can cause major safety concerns and will be asked to sit out and watch if a disruption occurs. Students will be spotted during classes, which means physical contact will occur, if this is a concern, please speak with your instructor (or your child’s instructor before class).

Safety Waivers

All students must sign a safety waiver prior to participation at A-WOL. Minors must have parent/guardian signature (this cannot be a friend’s parent, it MUST be a legal parent/guardian). To request a copy of this waiver to send with your minor child to class, please email fly@awoldance.org and put the words “waiver request” in the subject line.

Missing a drop-in class

if you are signed in to a class online, you have until 2 hours prior to the class to cancel yourself out, otherwise this class will be deducted from your class card.

Waitlist Process

If you add yourself to the waitlist, you are making a commitment to attend, should a spot become available for you.  If a spot does become available, you will be notified automatically by email (at a minimum of 2 hours before class).  At that point, you are added into the roster and can either attend or will need to cancel yourself (online) prior to the class.

Be on time to class! 

warming up is the key to injury prevention. Students that arrive more than 10 minutes late to the designated start time will be asked not to participate (and not eligible for a refund of the preregistration purchase).

Keep our space clean!

Please remove trash, empty water cups, belongings, etc from the space when you exit. Our warehouse is giant and challenging to maintain. Please help us take pride in it and keep it lovely.  We request that there are no shoes on the mat floor or the main stage.

Payment Policy

Payment is required in advance of taking any class or workshop.  If a student attends a class without making a prior class pack purchase or membership commitment, we reserve the right to charge the credit card affiliated with the student’s file at the time of service.  If a student accumulates any unpaid class credits on the account (due to expired cards on file, etc.), we reserve the right to refuse entry into class until the account is reconciled.

Refund Policy

Please note that we do not offer refunds for purchases.  Take care to be certain of your purchases when you make them, and be diligent about cancelling yourself out of a class more than 2 hours prior, to maintain the credit on your account.

Expiration Dates

Please note that some purchases have expiration dates.  (Often, a 90-day expiration is in place for 5 and 10 class packs). We reserve the right to refuse requests for extensions past the stated expiration date.  You can view your purchase expiration dates through your online account profile at any time.

Class Schedules

Please note that our regular weekly class calendar is subject to change.  We do not guarantee that a weekly drop-in class will be offered for any designated period of time.  We reserve the right to cancel classes with low enrollment and to shift class hours to accommodate instructor availability and/ or greater student interest.  As a general rule, drop-in classes that retain less than 4 students in regular attendance may be cancelled.  If you are opted in to receive emails from the online registration system, you will be notified via electronic message, if a class you have preregistered for should be cancelled.  If a class is cancelled for which you have previously registered, your account will retain the purchased class credit.

Open Gym

All open gym participants must be currently enrolled in A-WOL skills classes or gain instructor permission via email (fly@awoldance.org) prior to registering for a class. A-WOL Open Gym is a supervised independent practice time with certain restrictions.  Students are not permitted to use this time for rehearsing full routines, recording choreography for auditions and/ or marketing purposes, providing private instruction to other students, or attempting new skills for which the student has limited knowledge.  Only A-WOL instructors are permitted to rig apparatuses and make equipment adjustments. A-WOL reserves the right to refuse access to any participant who is in conflict with these guidelines.

Youth Sessions

Mighty Fly & Super Fly program classes are set up in 8-week sessions. Each 8-week session with include a mini informal showcase for parents during class on the 8th week where parents are invited to attend and take photographs/ video. Each 8-week session’s specific dates are announced a minimum of 2 weeks prior to the start and are designed to exclude weeks where holidays fall on the regular class day.

Current students will receive an email containing the announcement of the next session’s dates a minimum of 2 weeks prior to the start. Current students are automatically re-enrolled into subsequent sessions and credit cards on file are charged no more than 1 week prior to the session’s start.  Cancellation requests must be made in writing to fly@awoldance.org a minimum of 1 week prior to the next session’s start. No refunds will be made available for cancellation requests made less than 7 days prior to a session’s start. There are no makeup classes or refunds available for weeks a student is absent.

Parent Drop-off Policy

Students in our youth program may not be dropped off more than 15 minutes prior to class start time without a parent or guardian to accompany them unless cleared with our office in advance.
