Snow Leopards are known for their striking beauty and are primarily solitary. A-WOL transforms our beloved Mary S. Young Park into a snowy scene filled with soaring lace, mysterious characters and eery shades of antique pearls. Watch as each character explores this forest setting swirling around in search of the “ghost of the mountain”, the elusive Snow Leopard.  Musician Chet Lyster brings his original soundtrack to life on the stage, blending the mysterious sounds of traditional and electronic instruments.

Groovin Greenhouse

Polaris Dance Theatre presents Groovin’ Greenhouse, a series of world premiere dance works. Polaris, along with guest dance companies from every corner of Portland, are working with established and emerging Portland choreographers to present brand new dance works in the Polaris Studio Theatre. This evening features Polaris Dance Theatre with a world premiere by Artistic Director and resident Choreographer Robert Guitron. Guitron and his company play with innovative illumination and shadow, themes of love, loss and loneliness and grapple with identifying the mix of gifts from others that make us who we are. From full cast to intimate duet, this diverse company pulls at heartstrings and demands its audience members to think in a different way. Joining Polaris this evening is also A-WOL Dance Collective. A-WOL will perform a new work titled Emergence, the process of coming into view or becoming exposed after being concealed. This innovative new piece will incorporate aerial silks and ropes.
